Blackshear thriving with Gators boys weightlifting program
Weightlifting is Joseph Blackshear’s favorite sport. And the Baker senior is pretty good at it as well after sweeping the Olympic and traditional titles in the 199-lbs. weight class at the District 1-1A meet last Wednesday at Baker.
“It means a lot to me to be able to win this in my final year,” Blackshear said. “I started lifting when I was a freshman, and my coach told me that the sky was the limit for me. I tried as hard as I could to get to this point by practicing whenever I got the opportunity to do so.”
Joseph Blackshear won the district title in Olympic and traditional for the 199 lb. class.
