Baker softball sets foundation for future in district tourney

The Baker softball team fought hard, but saw its season end with a 16-1 loss against top-seeded Jay last Tuesday in the semifinals of the Rural District 1 tournament. Baker opened the game with a run in the first as Emily Whiddon, the Gators’ lead-off batter, came around to score after reaching on a walk.
Abigail Griffin tossed three strikeouts in the win over Central.
