Mayor’s talk will focus on city government operations

| Staff Reporters
Every day, Crestview Mayor J.B. Whitten and City Council members receive emails, phone calls, and Facebook messages with requests to do things that are not the city government’s responsibility.

To clarify what the Crestview city government can and cannot do, Whitten will explain at an upcoming public presentation what form of city government we have, how it was adopted, how it operates, and the different roles played by the city, the county, and the school district.

The 45-minute presentation, titled “City Government and How it Operates in Crestview,” is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the meeting room at the Crestview Public Library, 1445 Commerce Drive. It will be followed by a Q&A session.

The event is part of Whitten’s series of “Historic Hotspots” presentations and will take place during City Government Week.
