According to unofficial primary election results of the District 3 race, Sherri Cox received 7,597 votes, or 23.55% of the vote, followed by Keri Pitzer, who received 7,584 votes, or 23.51% of the vote. The 0.5%-or-less margin triggered the recount.
The recount will take place at the county Supervisor of Elections Office in Crestview.
If necessary, a manual recount will commence immediately following the machine recount, county Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux said in a public notice. If necessary, the Canvassing Board will continue the recount on Sunday.
