County seeks funds for sewer plant at Shoal River Ranch

Shalimar – Okaloosa County officials hope to secure a $10 million federal grant to help pay for the county’s proposed Shoal River Ranch Water Reclamation Facility.

Shoal River Ranch is a more than 10,500-acre industrial gigasite seven miles east of downtown Crestview and just south of U.S. Highway 90. The county owns a total of 750 acres of the overall site, which extends south of Interstate 10.

The Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners has voted to apply for a $10 million federal grant to help offset the cost of the proposed $50 million Shoal River Ranch Water Reclamation Facility.
