Here’s a look at the Crestview City Council precincts
Precinct 1 covers central Crestview and is bordered by U.S. Highway 90 to the north and Interstate 10 to the south.
On Monday, the council appointed Dusty Allison to serve as the Precinct 1 councilor in place of Joe Blocker, who recently resigned from the seat because of health reasons. Allison will serve the remainder of Blocker’s four-year term, which expires in November 2026.
Precinct 2 covers south Crestview, is bordered by I-10 to the north, and is currently represented by Councilor Ryan Bullard. His term expires in November 2026.
Precinct 3 covers north Crestview, is bordered by U.S. 90 to the south, and is currently represented by Councilor Doug Capps. His term expires in November 2026.
The Group 1 at-large councilor is Shannon Hayes and the Group 2 at-large councilor is Brandon Frost. Their terms expire in November 2028.
Voters citywide are entitled to vote for candidates running for the two at-large seats and all three precinct seats. Candidates for the precinct seats must live in the precinct they’re seeking to represent.
“All five council members serve the entire city,” City Manager Tim Bolduc said on Wednesday. “The precincts ensure that at least three of them are from a specific precinct, which is intended to give a perspective from that area.”
He added that the precincts’ arrangement is “to ensure that all areas of the city have someone who experiences things within that neighborhood, and then that helps them to have a good understanding of the needs of that area.”
The city has an election every two years. In one election cycle, the councilors for the three precincts are elected. In the other cycle, the two at-large councilors and the mayor are elected.
