“This year, UniTrust Financial Group, one of the fastest-growing insurance companies in the country, launched UniTrust Cares, a nationwide effort to meet the growing need for assistance in many of our local communities,” company officials said today in a news release.

“As part of this inaugural year of giving, our Crestview, Florida office of independent agents is holding a food drive to benefit Crestview Resource Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to vulnerable Crestview residents through partnerships with fellow non-profits, government agencies, and individuals.”

Donations will be accepted at the UniTrust Financial Group’s Crestview office at 757 Ashley Drive from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays through Dec. 19.

The most requested items include canned beans and vegetables, rice, powdered milk, macaroni and cheese not requiring the addition of milk or butter, and other shelf-stable items. Additionally, donors may drop off gift cards to assist with the purchase of fresh meat and other perishables. (Suggested amount $20-$25.)

This donation drive is part of UniTrust Cares, a nationwide effort launched on Nov. 15 to leverage the company’s more than 1,000 independent agents to effect positive change in their communities. So far, agents have reported volunteering at food pantries, organizing clothing drives for the homeless, and more.

“One of UniTrust’s core values is humility, which we interpret as serving our communities with as much compassion and care as we do our own families,” Brandon Hall, vice president of sales and marketing at UniTrust Financial Group, said in a statement. “We are so proud to see our Crestview team embrace this philosophy and give back to their community.”
