Big Brothers Big Sisters to celebrate new Hub City office

| Staff Reporters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Crestview office at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4.

The office, which has been open for several months as part of the organization’s strategic growth plan to better serve the northern region of Okaloosa and Walton counties, is at 121 N. Wilson St.

“This office has already become a vital resource for mentoring matches along the I-10 corridor, from Crestview to DeFuniak Springs,” BBBS officials said today in a news release. “This expansion marks a significant milestone in our mission to provide life-changing, one-to-one mentoring relationships to more youth in the area. While we are proud to have over a dozen active matches in Crestview, there are approximately 34 children currently waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister. We urgently need caring adults in the community to step up and become mentors, helping to make a lasting impact on these children’s lives.”

“We’re thrilled to have a bigger presence in Crestview, thanks to the generosity of the city, which graciously donated office space,” said Paula Shell, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida. “Our matches are already benefitting from the convenience of this new location, and we look forward to building stronger relationships within the Crestview community.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will feature light refreshments and be open to the public.
