Crestview motorcyclist dies in crash

| Staff Reporters
A 28-year-old Crestview man died on Sunday morning after crashing his motorcycle by the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, the man was traveling north on State Road 85 and approaching the entrance ramp to merge onto State Road 123 at 2:42 a.m. Sunday. While traveling northbound onto the ramp, the man lost control of his motorcycle and traveled off the roadway.

Upon trying to regain control, the man overcorrected and struck a guard rail. The motorcycle then overturned, landing on its left side and blocking both lanes of travel.

The man was not wearing a helmet, according to the FHP.

It is the FHP’s policy not to list the names of traffic accident victims.
