Fire personnel and retirees pushed the new engines into the firehouse bay. The ceremony symbolized their teamwork and marked the official service of the engines to the community.

The push-in ceremony dates to the 1800s, when firefighters would manually push their horse-drawn carts into the station after a call.
The new engines, No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, are leased vehicles and replace 2017-model engines. Fire engines must be replaced about every seven years, interim City Manager Jessica Leavins said.
