Weeks was stopped on March 23 for obstructing the flow of traffic in relation to a funeral procession, according to a news release from the Shalimar Police Department. When stopped, Weeks presented an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office badge and falsely claimed to be a sergeant with the OCSO, Shalimar PD officials said.
Weeks surrendered to authorities and the warrant was served on March 25.
“This incident highlights the importance of integrity and honesty, especially among those who have held positions of authority,” Shalimar PD officials said. “The Shalimar Police Department is committed to upholding the law and ensuring that individuals who engage in fraudulent behavior are held accountable.”
Weeks resigned as the county corrections chief last December after serving a little more than two years in the position. He resigned not long after an investigation performed on the county’s behalf found that he allegedly used his position as chief of the county jail to facilitate a private business venture.
