“Thank you for everything you do,” NOMC CEO Michael Nordness told Shelter Executive Director Ann Sprague during a check-presentation ceremony at the hospital, 151 E. Redstone Ave. “We appreciate it.”

“It’s a huge blessing,” Sprague said of the donated funds, which might be used to help pay for the remodeling of the shelter’s kitchen.

The check-presentation ceremony was held one day after National Doctors’ Day, which celebrates doctors’ hard work and dedication. Medical staff at NOMC also donated $6,000 to the shelter last year in celebration of National Doctors’ Day 2024.

The homeless shelter, 120 Duggan Ave., typically houses more than 25 clients at a time. It also provides services each month to about 300 homeless people in the Crestview area.
