The top goal of the Healthy Communities Okaloosa County Health Improvement Partnership consists of reducing the number of emergency department visits from motor vehicle traffic related injuries to pedestrians and pedalcyclists from 12.3 per 100,000 to 11 per 100,000 by the end of 2027 in Okaloosa County.
Strategies to accomplish this goal consist of educating residents and visitors about pedestrian and pedalcyclists-related safety risks, assessing infrastructure and policy needs in relation to pedestrian and pedalcyclists-related injuries and deaths, and assessing funding opportunities related to infrastructure needs.
