| Staff Reporters
The 2025 MLK Ceremony hosted on Saturday by The Concerned Citizens of Crestview “served as a reminder for us not only to celebrate equality, justice, and unity in our community, but also to carry them forward for future generations,” city of Crestview officials said.

The ceremony honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. was held at the Carver-Hill School Center in Crestview.

During the event, Evangelist Velmandria Macey from First Church of God in Christ delivered an inspiring speech about King’s values and his call to action for us to carry them forward.

City Police Chief Steve McCosker encouraged the community to educate our youth about diversity and equity, and city Mayor Pro Tem Doug Capps read a proclamation declaring Jan. 20, 2025, as Martin Luther King Day in the city of Crestview.
