A Public Hearing for the second and final reading will be held before the Crestview City Council on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible to consider enactment of the Ordinances. ORDINANCE 1950 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 55 – SEXUAL OFFENDERS AND SEXUAL PREDATORS, PROHIBITING SEXUAL OFFENDERS AND SEXUAL PREDATORS CONVICTED OF CRIMES UNDER CERTAIN STATUTES OF FLORIDA OR OTHER JURISDICTIONS FROM LIVING WITHIN 1500 FEET OF SPECIFIED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW; PROHIBITING PERSONS FROM LETTING, RENTING OR OTHERWISE ALLOWING THE USE OF ANY REAL PROPERTY, PLACE, STRUCTURE, TRAILER OR OTHER CONVEYANCE, OR PART THEREOF, WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT IT WILL BE USED AS A TRANSIENT, TEMPORARY, OR PERMANENT RESIDENCE OF A SEXUAL OFFENDER OR SEXUAL PREDATOR WITHIN THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW; PROVIDING FOR FILING OF THIS ORDINANCE WITH THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF OKALOOSA COUNTY; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR SCRIVENER’S ERRORS; PROVIDING FOR LIBERAL INTERPRETATION; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING CODES AND ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ORDINANCE 1951 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW, FLORIDA; AMENDING THE CITY OF CRESTVIEW POLICE OFFICERS’ AND FIREFIGHTERS’ RETIREMENT PLAN, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 780, AS SUBSEQUENTLY AMENDED; AMENDING AND RENUMBERING SECTION 6 BENEFIT AMOUNTS AND ELIGIBILITY AND SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFIT; AMENDING SECTION 30 PRE-RETIREMENT DEATH; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. All citizens and interested parties are encouraged to attend the meetings and to provide written and/or verbal comments on the items under consideration. Written comments will be heard and considered and will be made a matter of public record at the meeting. The files pertinent to the above items may be inspected by the public at the Community Development Services Department, City Hall, 198 Wilson Street North, Crestview, Florida, 32536 during regular business hours. No stenographic record by a certified court reporter is made of these meetings.
