According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the pilot reported he conducted a low flyover of another nearby airstrip when the plane experienced a complete engine failure at approximately 200 feet, causing the aircraft to nose-dive onto private property.
The pilot was able to exit the plane and call 911, but the passenger was trapped inside and had to be extricated by Baker Fire personnel.
Both men were conscious when first responders arrived. The pilot was transported by ambulance to a hospital, and the passenger was airlifted as a precaution.
