The Anderson Street home of Leon and Bertie Ann Curenton is roofless after the Jan. 5, 1962, tornado whirled through Crestview. Their 10-day-old son, Leon Jr., had just been laid down for a nap in the back bedroom (lefthand window) when the tornado struck. He slept through the ordeal.
